As the head of cyprus Department of Antiquities Pavlos Florentsos stated, archeologist have discovered on the island an old tomb, which was painted with scenes from Gomer's writings. The tomb is 2.5 thousands years old and it was found close to Kouklia village. By all appearances, the grave belonged to a warrior and it was plundered as early as antiquity. According to scientist's words this tomb is unique in its style and used colors. Red, black and blue colors on white background picture scenes that definitely illustrate Gomer's "Odyssey" and "Iliad". On one of these scenes Odyssey with his friends escape from Cyclops Polypheme cave hiding under a fold. Another picture represents a battle between Greeks and Trojans. Archeologists believe that such selection of subjects is an allusion to the high status of person, which was buried here. There are also scenes that are not related to Gomer�s poems. For example there is a picture with a man carrying another dead or wounded man, or another scene with a lion fighting with a wild boar under the tree. As scientists expect, earthenware that was found in the tomb will indicate more exact date of burial place.
